This weakness can be bypassed by simply not using Rift surge, in which case it's still a solid squad friendly defense build. Rift Surge will cause enemies outside the bubble to often be pulled into the rift, and it is often not easy to determine whos in the rift and whos not. The main weakness of this build is that it still might piss your allies off if they don't want to sit in the bubble. Squad members can easily join you in the bubble and murder there, and it does not slow down defense mission game types, and the large bubble doesn't feel like you are restricting the play area too much. Enemies outside the range of the Resonator cannot hurt you as you are safe inside the bubble. Resonator can instantly re-pacify all enemies with little to no downtime (unlike stasis which as a dangerously long casting time) if you don't wait for it to run out. From this point on, all you have to do is remember to re-cast Resonator and rift surge (if used). Cataclysmic Continuum saves you time and attention as you no longer have to recast Cataclysm, you are pulling in enough enemies with Resonator to keep it alive almost indefinitely. Rift surge gives purpose to using the bubble, as now you get a huge damage boost for everyone inside your considerably large bubble. Resonator, using conductor to keep in the center of your bubble, will continually pull in enemies, who of course are pacified and unable to harm you. Why I think this build is crazy: You don't need stasis to survive, and in fact Resonator can be cast while in the rift, so you can use is a means to exit the rift safe from all enemies around you. Power strength is also optional depending on if you want to make use of rift surge. Includes Rift torrent, Conductor, AND Cataclysmic Continuum, that's right 3 augments, though they are actually entirely optional. Octavia's Resonator: Replace Stasis with Resonatorĭuration +, Range +++, Strength +. Second most squad friendly build, and probably the most powerful, and cheesy, build of them all: Melee attacks are unadvised as proximity raises your threat level above that of the decoy. Going solo you might as well use any other build, and I find that the distraction is not enough to keep you alive when enemies only have you and the decoy to chose from. The big limit on this build is that you REALLY need a squad to make it worth it. Essentially banish is now your 5 foot cone of 'dibs on these guys'. In addition, while not super time-to-kill efficient, you still have good reason to banish enemies, as such a small range limits accidental banishment of your teammates, and excessive banishment of enemies that you likely wouldn't be able to kill within the next 5 seconds. And if you do get downed, you swap with your decoy, safe and sound into a stasis bubble. Thus you aren't interfering with your squads ability to kill enemies, and you are actively contributing to their survivability. But it can be done if your quick, and then you have a bubble to protect other objectives. Banishing the decoy I find is difficult to accomplish as it often dies immediately. Reason why it is effective: Your actively either putting the decoy in your tiny cataclysm, with stasis up to keep it alive, or just banishing the decoy. I'll start with the most squad friendly build possible that still uses every ability, but is probably also the least powerfulĬlassic Loki decoy in a bubble: Replace Rift Surge with loki's decoyĭuration +++, Range -, include savior decoy as a back up plan For my builds I tried to not just simply abandon what makes him powerful as a frame, stasis and the rift, and in fact double down on these strengths. I tried out a number of helminth abilities and settled on a handful that I think are surprisingly extremely viable, and I wanted to share them.
